A mobile credential rollout is an enrollment and support program as well as a technology choice. Evaluate how employees activate, replace, revoke, and use credentials across supported doors and sites.
Part of Enterprise Access Control Systems.
Confirm devices and enrollment responsibilities
Confirm reader, controller, platform, mobile operating system, license, and device-management requirements. Define ownership of invitations, activation support, replacement devices, and credential revocation. Establish a practical option for users who cannot use the mobile method and for locations whose hardware is not ready.
Plan for lost phones and backup credentials
Test a lost or replaced phone, an expired invitation, unavailable connectivity, a changed employee role, and a device that no longer meets the organization’s policy. Document the behavior at each relevant reader type. Decide how a backup credential is issued and later withdrawn without creating an unreviewed second access path.
Pilot enrollment, entry, and offboarding
Pilot with representative supported devices, door types, and user groups. Verify enrollment completion, ordinary entry, disabled credentials, support escalation, and offboarding. Record the operating limitations and help instructions before sending organization-wide invitations. Review actual adoption and support issues before expanding to the next wave.
