Wireless connectivity and AI-enabled cameras help LKQ management monitor after-hours activity, reinforce safe work habits and review inventory movement.

Customer case study · Parryville, Pennsylvania
Connected cameras. Greater yard visibility.
A NERSA customer relationship since 2008.
The Challenge: Securing an Active Recycling Yard
LKQ Recycling in Parryville needed visibility across its yard, particularly when the premises were closed. Management also wanted camera coverage that could support everyday operations, including reviewing work practices and following inventory movement.
The Solution: Wireless Links Supporting AI-Enabled Cameras
The system uses wireless point-to-point and point-to-multipoint communications to connect camera locations. Point-to-point links connect two fixed locations; point-to-multipoint links connect multiple remote locations through a central wireless connection. These arrangements support video communications across the property.
AI-enabled cameras provide management with after-hours alerts when someone enters the premises. The team can use the associated video to review the activity and determine an appropriate response.
Supporting Safe Work Habits and Inventory Oversight
Beyond after-hours security, LKQ uses its cameras to support safe work habits. Reviewing recorded activity gives management a practical way to discuss observed work practices and reinforce expectations with employees.
The cameras also assist with inventory tracking by providing a visual record of activity and movement in covered areas. This is camera-assisted oversight, rather than a claim of automated inventory counting.
