Moving between server-based, cloud-managed, and hybrid security environments changes responsibilities as well as hosting. Document where data, decisions, administration, and recovery will reside before planning the cutover.
Part of Legacy Enterprise Security Migration.
Map what moves and what stays
Map the current and target locations of recording, event storage, identity, configuration, and operator tools. Confirm supported migration methods, export formats, subscriptions, integrations, and connectivity requirements. Identify which historical data can move and which must remain accessible in a separate archive.
Plan archive access and service interruptions
Plan coexistence, interrupted uploads, unavailable cloud services, subscription termination, and local operation during the transition. A management interface moving to the cloud does not necessarily mean recordings move with it. Assign responsibility for every retained server and archive so the old environment does not become an unmaintained dependency.
Validate the new platform before cutover
Pilot enrollment, permissions, event delivery, recording retrieval, exports, health alerts, and agreed outages. Confirm customer account ownership and usable access to retained data. Decommission old components only after the acceptance record shows their dependencies have been resolved.
