Permission reviews reconcile current access with approved responsibilities across sites and platforms. They should address both physical entry and administrative capabilities without assuming that a working login remains justified.
Part of Enterprise Security Administration.
Assign reviewers and review scope
Establish reviewers for employee access, visitor access, video review, exports, system configuration, and service accounts. Compare active assignments with approved roles and current organizational records. Review corporate, regional, and local scope separately, and identify accounts without a clear owner.
Identify inherited and temporary permissions
Transfers, acquisitions, temporary assignments, dormant accounts, and third-party support can create permissions outside the normal process. Record an owner and expiry for exceptions. Treat administrator privileges and recovery authority as separate review items rather than hiding them within a general user list.
Verify approved changes and close findings
Retain the review scope, reviewer, exceptions, approved removals, and completion evidence in the customer’s authorized system. Verify that requested changes reached the relevant platforms and controllers as supported. Use unresolved findings to improve the enrollment and offboarding process rather than repeatedly correcting the same gap.

Compliance, Codes & Project Standards
NERSA plans commercial and industrial security work with applicable code, documentation, inspection and authority-having-jurisdiction requirements in mind. Requirements vary by system, property and jurisdiction. These resources support project planning; they do not establish legal compliance, certification or AHJ approval.
