Define the Changeover Before Replacing Equipment

Document any condition that prevents acceptance of the phase. The next stage should use the corrected process rather than repeating unresolved problems across more doors.
Prepare for an Unsuccessful Changeover
Before starting a phase, agree on the steps to take if the planned work cannot be completed or the updated opening does not operate as intended. Identify decision-makers, available support, necessary equipment, and the operational limits of any temporary arrangement.
A recovery plan depends on the existing equipment and the scope of the change. Reconnecting removed components is not always practical, so the customer needs a defined response rather than an assumed return to the old system.
Close Out the Completed Retrofit
Update opening names, equipment records, user procedures, and administrator responsibilities as phases are accepted. Confirm which parts of the old system remain active and which have been retired.
Provide the authorized customer team with operating guidance and support contacts. A final review should confirm the agreed access behavior across all completed openings and identify any separately scheduled work.
